Hello,
since the game sometimes relays on exact positioning of a fighter (just out of range for an aimed shot/ a cavallery-charge …), a possibility to Show adjustable ranges around enemies would be helpful (perhaps as Presets ranged weapon min/max and movement (with running), also adjustable), else the only Thing you can do is counting squares.

Hi. Predicting the range and movement of the units to precisely make your movements as response is part of the metagame in Rise. If you know the range of a javelin throw, you need to stay away from it. If you don't know, you'll need to guess.

Like I wrote: counting squares … (It works, but is sometimes laborious) Our intention is to make the players who count the squares and make their own calculations to be more skilled than those that don't. This is also appliable to the HP/Stamina system of enemies.
