Hello,
Since the game is beta, I think in offline-mode the battles should be more configurable: it should be possible to select at least the Opponent (with random selection possible), also perhaps the deployment-area.
Side idea (perhaps parts of it are already implemented since I never managed to Play online): Civil war should be possible (at least online, but it would also make sense in soloplayer-campain); then of course different color-Patterns will be necessary (or not - a Attribute of civil war is that it is difficult to destinguish between friend and foe).
Question on future plans: How big the battles will be ? I think game pinciple (only 1 figure is moved at a time) allows very big battles (even if you have to wait longer for your next turn), in the Roadmap I read of 2v2 battles; how about 4 player-warbands (~10 fighters each) against a big army (~50men) controlled by the Computer ? (Since it is 454 AD: Battle of Nedao: Player tribes against a big evil hun horde?)
Best Regards
Majo

Civil wars are a planned feature for the future, when politics start to become more prevalent.
Battles will often feature roughly 10-15 units per side, going up to 20 in bigger, top-level players. This is for 1v1. There are also plans for 2v2, 2v2v2 and 3v3 battles. We also plan for players to join forces with groups of other players, effectively making a player able to command a large force of 60 units. Sieges are also planned, where true armies clash in the open field and lots of players fight at the same time, their results able to determine how a siege goes.
And yes, custom battles like the Battle of Nedao are planned, but only after we design our single-player campaigns.
